How it WorksInfinity Memorial Systems™ niches are compact and take less space than any other columbarium system. The niche face plates are 3.75" x 3.75" which provides enough space to engrave the name of the deceased and dates. Compare that to traditional niches which usually have 12" x 12" face plates and you can see how Infinity Memorial Systems™ can fit so many niches into such small spaces. 9 of our niches fit into the same space as a traditional square foot niche. 98% of cremated ashes fit into our urns. Our machine compacts the ashes into Infinity Urns™.
This remarkable niche size reduction is accomplished using a process called Cremains Compaction which is patented by Cremation Technologies, Inc. Cremation ashes are placed in a cyndrilcal steel urn and then compressed so that they take less space. This process is repeated until all of the ashes have been compressed into a brick-like block by the compression machine. The urn end cap is then pressed onto the urn by the same machine creating a permanent seal (most churches will have a local funeral director perform this service for them).
